During her three decades as a Realtor -- including five years with Coldwell Banker in France representing high-end clients and estates -- Françoise has been instrumental in the sale and 1031 exchange of properties ranging from charming pieds-à-terre, to vineyards and wineries, to apartments and a world-class hotel. Distinctive among Realtors in Santa Barbara, California, and in the South of France, she serves clients in both world-renowned locations.

In addition to representing buyers and sellers of fine residential properties, Françoise is involved with pairing French investors, winery owners and vignerons with California wineries and vineyards. As liaison between the French real estate community and U.S. real estate transaction processes, she has been instrumental in creating enhanced cooperation amongst her French colleagues.

Born and raised in Africa where her father was an official of the French government, Françoise came to the United States as an exchange student from the Sorbonne and immediately immersed herself in English language books and dictionaries. Subsequently, she made her university’s Dean’s List, majoring in Literature, and has lived in such diverse locales as Iowa, Pennsylvania, Princeton and New York City.

In 1977, Françoise traveled West for a one week vacation to visit a friend in Los Angeles. That holiday turned into a 25 year residence there – all the while spending part of her time in Santa Barbara and falling in love with the area known as “The American Riviera.” Today, she divides her time between homes and clients in Santa Barbara’s prestigious enclave, Montecito, and the South of France. Her international and intercultural knowledge, expertise and clients contribute to her singular status among real estate professionals in those celebrated areas.

“I’m a people person,” Françoise says of her success with diverse cultures, “Above all, I listen to people and I’m a team player. If you do those things, you will be successful.” Her affable nature is manifest in her involvement with Santa Barbara’s French community, promotion of French culture with the area’s many Francophiles and with foreign nationals anxious to live and work in both the U.S. and France. In addition, she is active with the local social organization, Newcomers, as well as with Lotusland, a 37-acre estate and botanic garden in Montecito.

“I have traveled all over the world,” Françoise says, “And I feel very fortunate to be able to maintain homes in both Montecito and the South of France. The fantastic thing about Santa Barbara is that its cultural diversity, active lifestyle, scenic beauty and wonderful neighborhoods make living there like being on vacation. There is a perpetual joie de vivre.”
